Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Oil & Gas and Consumer Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX added 2.14% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Heineken (AS:HEIN), which rose 2.93% or 2.31 points to trade at 81.23 at the close. Meanwhile, Unilever NV (AS:UNc) added 2.90% or 1.20 points to end at 42.48 and Royal Dutch Shell A (AS:RDSa) was up 2.88% or 0.62 points to 22.35 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO), which fell 10.64% or 1.40 points to trade at 11.71 at the close. KPN Kon (AS:KPN) added 0.59% or 0.017 points to end at 2.897 and NN Group (AS:NN) was up 0.60% or 0.16 points to 26.92.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 127 to 36 and 12 ended unchanged.
Shares in Unilever NV (AS:UNc) rose to all time highs; up 2.90% or 1.20 to 42.48.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 9.84% to 15.58 a new 52-week low.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 2.97% or 1.28 to $44.44 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 2.99% or 1.36 to hit $46.81 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.55% or 7.25 to trade at $1324.35 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.38% to 1.1155, while EUR/GBP fell 0.50% to 0.8388.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.25% at 95.90.
