Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Software & Computer Services, Consumer Goods and Media sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 1.47%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Aegon (AS:AEGN), which rose 3.67% or 0.203 points to trade at 5.741 at the close. Meanwhile, Delta Lloyd (AS:DLL) added 3.18% or 0.23 points to end at 7.55 and OCI (AS:OCI) was up 2.96% or 0.665 points to 23.135 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA), which fell 2.98% or 0.14 points to trade at 4.46 at the close. Boskalis Westmin (AS:BOSN) declined 0.24% or 0.10 points to end at 41.79 and ING Groep NV (AS:ING) was down 0.12% or 0.015 points to 12.985.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 140 to 38 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) fell to 5-year lows; down 2.98% or 0.14 to 4.46.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 4.87% to 23.07.
Crude oil for January delivery was down 0.21% or 0.09 to $42.78 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.66% or 0.30 to hit $45.81 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.25% or 2.70 to trade at $1071.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.0627, while EUR/GBP fell 0.41% to 0.7027.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.07% at 99.76.
