Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Staples, Materials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 1.21% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB), which rose 4.28% or 10.400 points to trade at 253.300 at the close. Meanwhile, Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) added 1.89% or 8.040 points to end at 433.970 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa , SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) was up 1.28% or 0.410 points to 32.440 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO), which fell 3.37% or 0.510 points to trade at 14.610 at the close. Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) declined 3.20% or 1.730 points to end at 52.260 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) was down 2.71% or 3.160 points to 113.260.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 100 to 53 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.32% or 4.25 to $1321.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.12% or 0.98 to hit $45.31 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.86% or 0.90 to trade at $47.42 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 1.33% to 19.0598, while EUR/MXN rose 1.21% to 21.3889.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.46% at 95.56.
