Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms Services, Materials and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which rose 5.77% or 0.960 points to trade at 17.430 at the close. Meanwhile, Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) added 3.87% or 3.070 points to end at 82.210 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa, SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) was up 2.34% or 0.900 points to 39.500 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA), which fell 3.17% or 2.72 points to trade at 82.99 at the close. Coca-Cola Femsa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:KOFL) declined 2.19% or 2.770 points to end at 124.000 and Cemex SAB de CV (MX:CMXCPO) was down 2.05% or 0.310 points to 14.800.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 60 to 59 and 3 ended unchanged.
Shares in Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) rose to 52-week highs; rising 3.87% or 3.070 to 82.210.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.64% or 7.80 to $1202.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 5.70% or 3.08 to hit $50.91 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 5.20% or 3.08 to trade at $56.02 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.13% to 14.9138, while EUR/MXN fell 0.37% to 16.0871.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 98.25.
