Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Financial Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC added 0.70%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Alfa, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALFAA), which rose 4.54% or 1.090 points to trade at 25.100 at the close. Meanwhile, Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) added 2.91% or 0.790 points to end at 27.970 and Fomento Economico Mexicano UBD (MX:FMSAUBD) was up 2.28% or 3.730 points to 167.300 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (MX:LABB), which fell 2.43% or 0.570 points to trade at 22.890 at the close. Gruma SAB de CV (MX:GRUMAB) declined 1.47% or 3.670 points to end at 246.030 and Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO) was down 1.35% or 1.150 points to 84.070.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 103 to 65 and 6 ended unchanged.
Shares in Grupo Televisa SA (MX:TLVACPO) fell to 52-week lows; losing 1.35% or 1.150 to 84.070.
Gold for December delivery was down 1.96% or 23.70 to $1187.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.17% or 0.08 to hit $47.95 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.04% or 0.02 to trade at $48.92 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.16% to 20.6878, while EUR/MXN fell 0.13% to 21.7735.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.63% at 101.73.
