Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Friday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Telecoms and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher while losses in the Technology, Construction and Transportation & Logistics sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX lost 0.09%, while the MDAX index added 0.13%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.44%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn), which rose 1.14% or 0.38 points to trade at 33.61 at the close. Meanwhile, Deutsche Telekom AG Na (DE:DTEGn) added 0.82% or 0.125 points to end at 15.300 and Henkel & Co KGaA AG Pref (DE:HNKG) was up 0.74% or 0.800 points to 109.550 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Commerzbank AG O.N. (DE:CBKG), which fell 1.59% or 0.094 points to trade at 5.832 at the close. Lufthansa AG VNA O.N. (DE:LHAG) declined 1.20% or 0.125 points to end at 10.310 and Adidas AG NA O.N. (DE:ADSGN) was down 0.90% or 1.250 points to 137.000.
The top performers on the MDAX were Leoni AG (DE:LEOGn) which rose 2.73% to 31.765, Salzgitter AG (DE:SZGG) which was up 2.20% to settle at 26.770 and Kuka AG (DE:KU2G) which gained 1.34% to close at 109.550.
The worst performers were Hella KGaA Hueck & Co (DE:HLE) which was down 1.82% to 31.56 in late trade, K+S AG NA O.N. (DE:SDFGn) which lost 1.20% to settle at 19.355 and Airbus Group SE (F:AIRG) which was down 1.14% to 51.316 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were RIB Software AG Na (DE:RIB) which rose 2.90% to 9.878, Telefonica Deutschland Holding AG (DE:O2Dn) which was up 2.52% to settle at 3.617 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (DE:AFXG) which gained 1.78% to close at 33.215.
The worst performers were Suess Microtec NA O.N. (DE:SMHNn) which was down 3.10% to 6.960 in late trade, Adva Optical Networking SE (DE:ADAG) which lost 3.03% to settle at 7.307 and Slm Solution G (DE:AM3D) which was down 2.11% to 24.40 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 428 to 420 and 24 ended unchanged.
Shares in Vonovia SE (DE:VNAn) rose to all time highs; gaining 1.14% or 0.38 to 33.61.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 2.34% to 17.51 a new 6-months low.
Gold for August delivery was down 0.66% or 8.75 to $1322.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.88% or 0.84 to hit $43.91 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.90% or 0.88 to trade at $45.32 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.56% to 1.0964, while EUR/GBP rose 0.54% to 0.8378.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.62% at 97.54.
