Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Technology and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.44%, while the MDAX index climbed 1.10%, and the TecDAX index gained 1.95%.
The best performers of the session on the DAX were Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (XETRA:IFXGn), which rose 4.16% or 0.440 points to trade at 11.020 at the close. Meanwhile, K & S AG NA O.N. (XETRA:SDFGN) added 3.73% or 1.095 points to end at 30.415 and Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (XETRA:FREG) was up 3.72% or 1.990 points to 55.420 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were BASF SE NA O.N. (XETRA:BASFN), which fell 0.27% or 0.240 points to trade at 89.240 at the close. Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (XETRA:VOWG_p) declined 0.26% or 0.600 points to end at 230.850 and Commerzbank AG O.N. (XETRA:CBKG) was up 0.12% or 0.015 points to 12.160.
The top performers on the MDAX were Aurubis AG (XETRA:NAFG) which rose 5.20% to 59.680, Salzgitter AG O.N. (XETRA:SZGG) which was up 5.06% to settle at 32.200 and Kuka AG (XETRA:KU2G) which gained 3.25% to close at 65.850.
The worst performers were Deutsche Annington Immobilien SE (XETRA:ANNGn) which was down 1.96% to 29.48 in late trade, Aareal Bank AG (XETRA:ARLG) which lost 0.85% to settle at 38.270 and Airbus Group (XETRA:AIRG) which was down 0.61% to 61.691 at the close.
The top performers on the TecDAX were Stratec Biomedical (XETRA:SBSG) which rose 5.71% to 47.200, Dialog Semiconductor (XETRA:DLGS) which was up 5.52% to settle at 42.800 and Adva Optical Networking SE (XETRA:ADAG) which gained 5.29% to close at 5.099.
The worst performers were Nemetschek AG O.N. (XETRA:NEKG) which was down 0.60% to 115.450 in late trade, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (XETRA:COPMa) which lost 0.29% to settle at 25.435 and LPKF Laser & Electronics (XETRA:LPKG) which was down 0.19% to 10.530 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 556 to 175 and 38 ended unchanged.
Shares in Aurubis AG (XETRA:NAFG) rose to all time highs; rising 5.20% or 2.950 to 59.680.
The DAX volatility index, which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 20.66.
Gold for June delivery was up 1.35% or 15.90 to $1190.40 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.73% or 0.43 to hit $58.72 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.31% or 0.20 to trade at $66.25 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.46% to 1.1147, while EUR/GBP fell 0.23% to 0.7373.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 95.61.
