Where do we get to answering rhetorical questions.... especially after Intels earnings report yesterday. AMD has the overall better product portfolio, and NOT being an IDM helps a lot, its the main difference between Intel and AMD. Bleeding edge chips w/o state of the art production processes will always lag behind innsome sort (performance or efficiency or both). And being an IDM and having to outsource half of your product tiles doesnt really help with margins. AMD doesnt have that problem. They can up or down scale products rather easy( within certain ranges) w/o having to worry about lower fab tilization rates. Its beneficial not having fabs when R&D costs explode unlike 10-15 years ago. I could go on like that for hours. Its obvious who the stud is and who the dud. And that is not going to change any time soon.
