Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Transport, Services and Finance & Investment sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 1.42% to hit a new 1-month high, while the ADX General index added 0.75%.

The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE), which rose 14.49% or 0.200 points to trade at 1.580 at the close. Meanwhile, Takaful House (DU:DTKF) added 7.45% or 0.038 points to end at 0.548 and Damac Properties Dubai Co PSC (DU:DAMAC) was up 4.33% or 0.13 points to 3.13 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were SHUAA Capital PSC (DU:SHUA), which fell 0.55% or 0.003 points to trade at 0.544 at the close. Dubai National Insurance (DU:DNIN) unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to end at 2.620 and National Cement Company P.S.C. (DU:NCC) was 0.00% or 0.000 points to 3.310.

The top performers on the ADX General were National Marine Dredging PSC (AD:NMDC) which rose 14.74% to 5.45, Ad Shipbldg Co (AD:ADSB) which was up 9.20% to settle at 2.85 and Abu Dhabi National Hotels Co (AD:ADNH) which gained 3.45% to close at 2.70.

The worst performers were Arkan Bld Mt C (AD:ARKN) which was down 4.21% to 0.95 in late trade, Agthia Group (AD:AGTH) which lost 1.13% to settle at 7.91 and Bank Of Sharja (AD:BOS) which was down 0.64% to 1.56 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 26 to 1; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 15 rose and 6 declined, while 5 ended unchanged.

Shares in Dubai National Insurance (DU:DNIN) unchanged to 52-week lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 to 2.620.

Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.12% or 1.03 to $49.56 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.86% or 0.96 to hit $52.88 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.19% or 2.20 to trade at $1148.60 a troy ounce.

USD/AED was up 0.00% to 3.6731, while EUR/AED fell 0.11% to 4.1366.

The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 95.56.
