Investing.com – United Arab Emirates stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Consumer Staples, Banking and Real Estate & Construction sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Dubai, the DFM General gained 1.13%, while the ADX General index added 0.50%.
The best performers of the session on the DFM General were Takaful House (DU:DTKF), which rose 6.00% or 0.030 points to trade at 0.530 at the close. Meanwhile, Emaar Malls Group (DU:EMAA) added 4.01% or 0.110 points to end at 2.850 and Takaful Emarat PSC (DU:TKFE) was up 4.00% or 0.080 points to 2.080 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Amanat Holdings PJSC (DU:AMANT), which fell 1.22% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.810 at the close. AJMAN BANK PJSC (DU:AJBNK) unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to end at 1.720 and Deyaar Development PJSC (DU:DEYR) was 0.00% or 0.000 points to 0.609.
The top performers on the ADX General were Foodco Holding PJSC (AD:FOOD) which rose 14.71% to 4.60, Nat Bk Qaiwain (AD:NBQ) which was up 4.76% to settle at 3.30 and Rak Ceramics (AD:RKCE) which gained 4.62% to close at 3.400.
The worst performers were Ad Aviation (AD:ADAV) which was down 9.37% to 2.900 in late trade, Fujairah Building Industries Co PSC (AD:FBI) which lost 5.26% to settle at 1.08 and Int Fish Farmi (AD:ASMK) which was down 3.73% to 1.55 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Dubai Stock Exchange by 26 to 4 and 3 ended unchanged; on the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, 17 rose and 5 declined, while 8 ended unchanged.
Shares in Foodco Holding PJSC (AD:FOOD) rose to 52-week highs; up 14.71% or 0.59 to 4.60. Shares in Fujairah Building Industries Co PSC (AD:FBI) fell to 52-week lows; falling 5.26% or 0.06 to 1.08.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.14% or 0.57 to $49.39 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.24% or 0.63 to hit $50.02 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.33% or 17.20 to trade at $1274.90 a troy ounce.
USD/AED was unchanged 0.00% to 3.6730, while EUR/AED fell 0.01% to 4.1559.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 93.67.
