Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Sports, Banking and Electricity sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 0.96%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR), which rose 22.13% or 0.270 points to trade at 1.490 at the close. Meanwhile, Anadolu Efes (IS:AEFES) added 4.88% or 1.20 points to end at 25.80 and Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) was up 4.58% or 0.41 points to 9.36 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which fell 19.31% or 4.45 points to trade at 18.60 at the close. Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER) declined 4.30% or 1.80 points to end at 40.10 and Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) was down 3.91% or 0.110 points to 2.700.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 237 to 166 and 12 ended unchanged.

Gold for August delivery was down 0.95% or 11.10 to $1155.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.43% or 0.76 to hit $52.25 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.69% or 0.40 to trade at $56.77 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.60% to 2.6942, while EUR/TRY fell 0.41% to 2.9499.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.84% at 97.24.
