Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Metals, Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic and Transport sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 lost 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Alarko Gmyo (IS:ALGYO), which rose 20.00% or 6.16 points to trade at 36.96 at the close. Meanwhile, Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK) added 5.59% or 0.21 points to end at 3.97 and Goltas Cimento (IS:GOLTS) was up 4.36% or 3.95 points to 94.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tupras (IS:TUPRS), which fell 3.84% or 2.95 points to trade at 73.90 at the close. Eregli Demir Celik (IS:EREGL) declined 3.45% or 0.170 points to end at 4.760 and Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR) was down 3.43% or 0.060 points to 1.690.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 175 to 152 and 84 ended unchanged.
Shares in Alarko Gmyo (IS:ALGYO) rose to all time highs; up 20.00% or 6.16 to 36.96. Shares in Goltas Cimento (IS:GOLTS) rose to 5-year highs; rising 4.36% or 3.95 to 94.65.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.82% or 10.10 to $1236.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 2.99% or 1.24 to hit $40.26 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 2.53% or 1.11 to trade at $42.73 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.19% to 2.8545, while EUR/TRY rose 0.45% to 3.2263.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.35% at 94.61.
