Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Wood, Paper & Printing, Textile & Leather and Basic Metals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 1.83%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL), which rose 17.86% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.660 at the close. Meanwhile, Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON) added 7.31% or 0.38 points to end at 5.58 and Bagfas (IS:BAGFS) was up 5.84% or 0.64 points to 11.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Net Turizm (IS:NTTUR), which fell 1.63% or 0.020 points to trade at 1.210 at the close. Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) declined 1.10% or 0.010 points to end at 0.900 and Gsd Holding (IS:GSDHO) was down 1.00% or 0.010 points to 0.990.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 300 to 61 and 47 ended unchanged.
Shares in Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL) rose to 52-week highs; up 17.86% or 0.100 to 0.660.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.46% or 6.05 to $1334.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.93% or 0.83 to hit $42.09 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 2.23% or 1.01 to trade at $44.22 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.46% to 3.0338, while EUR/TRY fell 0.44% to 3.3348.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 97.33.
