Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Information Technology, Wood, Paper & Printing and Sports sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.89%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which rose 9.19% or 2.04 points to trade at 24.24 at the close. Meanwhile, Eczacibasi Yatirim (IS:ECZYT) added 5.27% or 0.70 points to end at 13.99 and Alarko Holding (IS:ALARK) was up 4.80% or 0.18 points to 3.93 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Izmir Demir Celik (IS:IZMDC), which fell 3.66% or 0.10 points to trade at 2.63 at the close. Fenerbahce Futbol (IS:FENER) declined 3.10% or 1.34 points to end at 41.84 and Kardemir Karabuk Demir Celik Sanayi ve Ticaret D (IS:KRDMD) was down 2.88% or 0.040 points to 1.350.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 271 to 68 and 71 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eczacibasi Yatirim (IS:ECZYT) rose to all time highs; gaining 5.27% or 0.70 to 13.99.
Gold for June delivery was down 2.19% or 28.30 to $1265.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.55% or 1.14 to hit $43.52 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 3.46% or 1.57 to trade at $43.80 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.41% to 2.9385, while EUR/TRY rose 0.37% to 3.3515.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.22% at 94.04.
