Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Wood, Paper & Printing, Information Technology and Banking sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 gained 0.62%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE), which rose 16.49% or 0.310 points to trade at 2.190 at the close. Meanwhile, Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) added 10.44% or 0.190 points to end at 2.010 and Dogan Holding (IS:DOHOL) was up 8.77% or 0.050 points to 0.620 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which fell 4.39% or 0.30 points to trade at 6.54 at the close. Menderes Tekstil (IS:MNDRS) declined 3.45% or 0.020 points to end at 0.560 and Turk Telekom (IS:TTKOM) was down 2.36% or 0.15 points to 6.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 237 to 164 and 10 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.01% or 0.10 to $1167.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.44% or 0.20 to hit $45.40 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.45% or 0.21 to trade at $48.06 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.81% to 2.8718, while EUR/TRY fell 2.61% to 3.2008.
The US Dollar Index was up 1.26% at 96.27.
