Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Sports, Wholesale & Retail Trade and Leasing & Factoring sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.41% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY), which rose 17.58% or 4.15 points to trade at 27.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) added 3.70% or 0.010 points to end at 0.270 and Turk Telekom (IS:TTKOM) was up 3.42% or 0.25 points to 7.56 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ipek Dogal Enerji (IS:IPEKE), which fell 6.54% or 0.200 points to trade at 2.860 at the close. Koza Madencilik (IS:KOZAA) declined 5.80% or 0.160 points to end at 2.600 and Netas Telekomunikasyon AS (IS:NETAS) was down 4.34% or 0.42 points to 9.26.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 226 to 174 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Galatasaray Sportif (IS:GSRAY) rose to 52-week highs; rising 17.58% or 4.15 to 27.75.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.18% or 2.20 to $1223.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.87% or 0.52 to hit $59.36 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.34% or 0.23 to trade at $66.47 a barrel.
USD/TRY was down 0.48% to 2.5777, while EUR/TRY fell 0.31% to 2.9495.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 93.33.
