Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Metals, Sports and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 added 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Soda Sanayii (IS:SODA), which rose 6.01% or 0.270 points to trade at 4.760 at the close. Meanwhile, Trakya Cam (IS:TRKCM) added 5.47% or 0.110 points to end at 2.120 and Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) was up 5.34% or 0.35 points to 6.91 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eczacibasi Yatirim (IS:ECZYT), which fell 10.16% or 1.40 points to trade at 12.38 at the close. Parsan (IS:PARSN) declined 6.79% or 0.590 points to end at 8.100 and Global Yat. Holding (IS:GLYHO) was down 5.29% or 0.090 points to 1.610.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 174 to 160 and 74 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tekfen Holding (IS:TKFEN) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 5.34% or 0.35 to 6.91.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.87% or 10.95 to $1275.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 2.82% or 1.26 to hit $45.92 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 3.32% or 1.51 to trade at $47.03 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.10% to 2.9531, while EUR/TRY rose 0.71% to 3.3798.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.57% at 93.68.
