Investing.com – Turkey stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Insurance, Basic Metals and Textile & Leather sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 rose 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were AvivaSA Emeklilik ve Hayat AS (IS:AVISA), which rose 8.39% or 3.90 points to trade at 50.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Erbosan (IS:ERBOS) added 5.65% or 1.85 points to end at 34.60 and Dogus Otomotiv (IS:DOAS) was up 5.32% or 0.80 points to 15.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Afyon Cimento (IS:AFYON), which fell 19.41% or 2.95 points to trade at 12.25 at the close. Koza Altin (IS:KOZAL) declined 5.17% or 1.30 points to end at 23.85 and Ihlas Holding (IS:IHLAS) was down 4.17% or 0.010 points to 0.240.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 224 to 173 and 13 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.11% or 1.20 to $1095.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.17% or 1.04 to hit $49.02 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.78% or 0.41 to trade at $53.72 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.16% to 2.7645, while EUR/TRY fell 0.16% to 3.0482.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.20% at 96.96.
