Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Banking, Financials & Insurance and Manufacturing sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE), which rose 30.77% or 0.40 points to trade at 1.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) added 20.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and Chilaw Finance PLC (CM:CHIL) was up 14.97% or 2.80 points to 21.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Standard Capital PLC (CM:SING), which fell 22.22% or 20.00 points to trade at 70.00 at the close. Singer Industries PLC (CM:SINI) declined 11.15% or 22.60 points to end at 180.00 and Kahawatte Plantations PLC (CM:KAHA) was down 10.60% or 3.90 points to 32.90.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 101 to 64 and 50 ended unchanged.
Shares in Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) rose to 52-week highs; up 30.77% or 0.40 to 1.70.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 1.41% or 0.64 to $44.77 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 1.37% or 0.64 to hit $46.12 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.21% or 2.85 to trade at $1361.25 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.14% to 188.460, while USD/LKR rose 0.22% to 145.610.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.36% at 96.66.
