Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Financial Services & Real Estate and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 declined 2.74% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Arcel. Mittal (MADRID:MTS), which rose 0.11% or 0.011 points to trade at 9.680 at the close. Meanwhile, Jazztel (MADRID:JAZ) added 0.04% or 0.005 points to end at 12.855 and Acciona (MADRID:ANA) was down 0.38% or 0.260 points to 68.130 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Int.Airl.Grp (MADRID:ICAG), which fell 6.50% or 0.507 points to trade at 7.294 at the close. Mapfre (MADRID:MAP) declined 6.46% or 0.218 points to end at 3.155 and B. Sabadell (MADRID:SABE) was down 3.90% or 0.093 points to 2.292.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 165 to 47 and 6 ended unchanged.
Gold for June delivery was up 0.67% or 7.90 to $1194.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 3.31% or 1.95 to hit $60.88 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 2.49% or 1.66 to trade at $68.11 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.38% to 1.1188, while EUR/GBP fell 0.05% to 0.7366.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.39% at 95.21.
