Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Chemical, Petroleum & Plastic sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.83%.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Caixabank SA (MC:CABK), which rose 1.52% or 0.038 points to trade at 2.539 at the close. Meanwhile, Indra A (MC:IDR) added 1.24% or 0.145 points to end at 11.805 and B. Sabadell (MC:SABE) was up 1.12% or 0.014 points to 1.262 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcel. Mittal (MC:MTS), which fell 3.25% or 0.181 points to trade at 5.394 at the close. Merlin Properties SA (MC:MRL) declined 3.18% or 0.33 points to end at 10.04 and Aena Aeropuertos SA (MC:AENA) was down 2.07% or 2.75 points to 130.05.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 118 to 68 and 24 ended unchanged.
Shares in Indra A (MC:IDR) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.24% or 0.145 to 11.805.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.42% or 5.65 to $1335.95 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.86% or 1.36 to hit $46.26 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 3.16% or 1.58 to trade at $48.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.42% to 1.1212, while EUR/GBP fell 0.17% to 0.8454.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.43% at 95.45.
