Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Building & Construction, Telecoms & IT and Financial Services & Real Estate sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 0.14% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Endesa (MC:ELE), which rose 1.33% or 0.238 points to trade at 18.183 at the close. Meanwhile, Mapfre (MC:MAP) added 1.28% or 0.035 points to end at 2.771 and Repsol (MC:REP) was up 1.21% or 0.147 points to 12.312 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Distribuidora Intl de Aliment (MC:DIDA), which fell 3.30% or 0.152 points to trade at 4.450 at the close. Cellnex Telecom SA (MC:CLNX) declined 2.18% or 0.29 points to end at 13.23 and Mediaset ESP (MC:TL5) was down 1.96% or 0.189 points to 9.446.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 108 to 101 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Mapfre (MC:MAP) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.28% or 0.035 to 2.771.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.41% or 4.95 to $1213.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 4.18% or 1.94 to hit $48.30 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 4.40% or 2.06 to trade at $48.92 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.15% to 1.0605, while EUR/GBP fell 1.15% to 0.8493.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 101.11.
