Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Oil & Gas and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX declined 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO), which rose 8.72% or 0.1725 points to trade at 2.1500 at the close. Meanwhile, Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) added 4.50% or 3.80 points to end at 88.20 and MMK (MCX:MAGN) was up 4.09% or 1.020 points to 25.960 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Akron (MCX:AKRN), which fell 2.85% or 110.0 points to trade at 3755.0 at the close. AK Transneft OAO Pref (MCX:TRNF_p) declined 2.83% or 4700 points to end at 161500 and DIXY Group ao (MCX:DIXY) was down 2.07% or 6.30 points to 297.80.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 121 to 95 and 26 ended unchanged.
Shares in Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) rose to 3-years highs; rising 8.72% or 0.1725 to 2.1500. Shares in Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 4.50% or 3.80 to 88.20.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 2.44% to 32.380.
Gold for August delivery was up 2.51% or 30.45 to $1243.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.47% or 0.23 to hit $48.94 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.34% or 0.17 to trade at $49.87 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 1.96% to 65.6580, while EUR/RUB fell 0.23% to 74.500.
The US Dollar Index was down 1.57% at 94.06.
