Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Power and Mining sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX lost 1.18%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT), which rose 0.89% or 1.40 points to trade at 158.60 at the close. Meanwhile, DIXY Group ao (MCX:DIXY) added 0.25% or 0.80 points to end at 323.80 and Akron (MCX:AKRN) was up 0.21% or 8.0 points to 3806.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT), which fell 4.39% or 21.8 points to trade at 475.1 at the close. Surgut (MCX:SNGS) declined 3.33% or 0.970 points to end at 28.185 and Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) was down 2.57% or 12.35 points to 467.65.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 148 to 60 and 21 ended unchanged.
Shares in NK RussNeft PAO (MCX:RNFT) fell to 52-week lows; falling 4.39% or 21.8 to 475.1.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 3.88% to 19.300.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.82% or 10.66 to $1284.24 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.17% or 0.68 to hit $57.31 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.14% or 0.72 to trade at $62.52 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.32% to 58.5644, while EUR/RUB rose 0.45% to 69.4393.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 93.13.
