Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Telecoms and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX rose 2.36% to hit a new all time high.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Sberbank Rossii OAO Pref (MCX:SBER_p), which rose 5.27% or 6.84 points to trade at 136.59 at the close. Meanwhile, Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) added 4.26% or 18.20 points to end at 445.20 and Rosneft (MCX:ROSN) was up 4.15% or 16.70 points to 419.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were NOVATEK (MCX:NVTK), which fell 1.12% or 8.90 points to trade at 783.00 at the close. Akron (MCX:AKRN) declined 0.98% or 35.0 points to end at 3540.0 and AFK Sistema (MCX:AFKS) was down 0.97% or 0.225 points to 22.945.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 148 to 66 and 17 ended unchanged.

The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 7.68% to 24.170.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.83% or 9.55 to $1161.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.66% or 0.89 to hit $52.83 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.55% or 0.88 to trade at $55.94 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.58% to 60.9155, while EUR/RUB fell 0.94% to 63.436.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.79% at 103.18.
