Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Manufacturing, Oil & Gas and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX added 0.82%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Gruppa LSR PAO (MCX:LSRG), which rose 4.17% or 28.0 points to trade at 700.0 at the close. Meanwhile, Sberbank (MCX:SBER) added 3.35% or 4.29 points to end at 132.16 and Sberbank Rossii OAO Pref (MCX:SBER_p) was up 2.94% or 2.50 points to 87.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRO), which fell 3.26% or 28 points to trade at 831 at the close. Verhnesald MPO (MCX:VSMO) declined 3.23% or 410.0 points to end at 12290.0 and PIK (MCX:PIKK) was down 2.61% or 6.70 points to 250.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 107 to 102 and 24 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sberbank (MCX:SBER) rose to all time highs; gaining 3.35% or 4.29 to 132.16. Shares in Sberbank Rossii OAO Pref (MCX:SBER_p) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.94% or 2.50 to 87.40.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.97% to 33.700.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.35% or 4.30 to $1219.50 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $49.56 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.03 to trade at $49.77 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.05% to 65.5258, while EUR/RUB rose 0.32% to 73.200.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.10% at 95.30.
