Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Manufacturing, Power and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX gained 0.69%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Ros Agro PLC (MCX:AGRO), which rose 4.33% or 36 points to trade at 867 at the close. Meanwhile, RusHydro JSC (MCX:HYDR) added 3.50% or 0.0224 points to end at 0.6633 and Magnit (MCX:MGNT) was up 2.88% or 265.0 points to 9466.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SG mechel (MCX:MTLR), which fell 2.06% or 1.32 points to trade at 62.88 at the close. Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) declined 2.03% or 1.68 points to end at 81.00 and VTB (MCX:VTBR) was down 1.11% or 0.0008 points to 0.0692.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 120 to 87 and 20 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.87% to 33.170.
Gold for June delivery was down 0.61% or 7.40 to $1213.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.53% or 0.26 to hit $49.22 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.79% or 0.39 to trade at $49.20 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.42% to 66.0886, while EUR/RUB fell 0.19% to 73.590.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.40% at 95.52.
