Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Mining, Power and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX rose 0.28% to hit a new 52-week low.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were Tatneft OAO Pref (MCX:TATN_p), which rose 4.62% or 12.00 points to trade at 272.00 at the close. Meanwhile, United Company Rusal Plc (MCX:RUAL) added 4.08% or 1.060 points to end at 27.050 and ANK Bashneft OAO Pref (MCX:BANE_p) was up 3.71% or 39.0 points to 1089.0 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MosEnrg (MCX:MSNG), which fell 6.49% or 0.1500 points to trade at 2.1595 at the close. SG mechel (MCX:MTLR) declined 5.10% or 6.55 points to end at 121.95 and Aeroflot (MCX:AFLT) was down 4.14% or 7.55 points to 174.65.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 127 to 77 and 15 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.12% to 24.760.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.13% or 1.69 to $1256.29 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.67% or 0.30 to hit $44.76 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 0.92% or 0.43 to trade at $47.35 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.24% to 57.7360, while EUR/RUB rose 0.43% to 64.6775.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.32% at 97.19.
