Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Mining, Manufacturing and Power sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX gained 0.25%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were FSK EES (MCX:FEES), which rose 3.81% or 0.0062 points to trade at 0.1679 at the close. Meanwhile, RusHydro JSC (MCX:HYDR) added 3.54% or 0.0267 points to end at 0.7820 and Moskovskaya Birzha OAO (MCX:MOEX) was up 3.50% or 4.31 points to 127.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Akron (MCX:AKRN), which fell 5.04% or 190.0 points to trade at 3580.0 at the close. Inter rao ees (MCX:IRAO) declined 2.80% or 0.0860 points to end at 2.9830 and E.ON Rossiya OAO (MCX:UPRO) was down 2.75% or 0.0770 points to 2.7200.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 136 to 86 and 20 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was up 2.08% to 26.530.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.55% or 7.15 to $1317.35 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.26% or 0.55 to hit $44.17 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.25% or 0.57 to trade at $46.34 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.64% to 64.6998, while EUR/RUB fell 0.72% to 72.297.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.33% at 95.74.
