Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Power and Mining sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Moscow, the MICEX gained 0.50%.
The best performers of the session on the MICEX were SG mechel (MCX:MTLR), which rose 7.54% or 11.50 points to trade at 164.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Rosseti ao (MCX:RSTI) added 2.29% or 0.0219 points to end at 0.9799 and Tatneft-3 (MCX:TATN) was up 1.53% or 5.75 points to 381.25 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ALROSA ao (MCX:ALRS), which fell 1.98% or 1.550 points to trade at 76.750 at the close. MosEnrg (MCX:MSNG) declined 1.29% or 0.0375 points to end at 2.8705 and Polymetal International PLC (MCX:POLY) was down 1.28% or 9.10 points to 701.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 115 to 95 and 13 ended unchanged.
The Russian VIX, which measures the implied volatility of MICEX options, was down 0.19% to 20.550.
Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.34% or 4.46 to $1292.24 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.86% or 0.41 to hit $47.94 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.75% or 0.39 to trade at $52.05 a barrel.
USD/RUB was down 0.22% to 59.0141, while EUR/RUB fell 0.65% to 69.4315.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 93.37.
