Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Basic Materials, Industrials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 2.80%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which fell 0.88% or 0.0120 points to trade at 1.3580 at the close. Meanwhile, Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) fell 0.91% or 0.1000 points to end at 10.8500 and Banco BPI (LS:BBPI) was down 0.98% or 0.0100 points to 1.0090 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which fell 7.11% or 0.2480 points to trade at 3.2420 at the close. Teixeira Duarte (LS:TDSA) declined 5.54% or 0.0160 points to end at 0.2730 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was down 5.52% or 0.3470 points to 5.9340.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 39 to 7 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in Teixeira Duarte (LS:TDSA) fell to 3-years lows; falling 5.54% or 0.0160 to 0.2730.
Brent oil for April delivery was down 1.50% or 0.51 to $33.55 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 2.48% or 0.77 to hit $30.12 a barrel, while the April Gold contract rose 3.08% or 35.60 to trade at $1193.30 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.1162, while EUR/GBP rose 0.79% to 0.7751.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.06% at 96.92.
