Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 1.79% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which rose 1.01% or 0.068 points to trade at 6.770 at the close. Meanwhile, Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) added 0.49% or 0.0030 points to end at 0.6200 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 0.580 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 4.86% or 0.0016 points to trade at 0.0313 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 3.60% or 0.0630 points to end at 1.6870 and Semapa (LS:SEM) was down 2.84% or 0.3150 points to 10.7900.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 42 to 7 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Montepio (LS:MPIO) unchanged to all time lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 to 0.580.
Brent oil for June delivery was down 2.41% or 0.96 to $38.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 2.65% or 1.00 to hit $36.75 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.36% or 16.60 to trade at $1240.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.21% to 1.1377, while EUR/GBP rose 0.16% to 0.8085.
The US Dollar Index was unchanged 0.00% at 94.49.
