Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 1.65%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Banco BPI (LS:BBPI), which rose 1.00% or 0.0110 points to trade at 1.1070 at the close. Meanwhile, Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) added 0.17% or 0.0030 points to end at 1.7650 and Montepio (LS:MPIO) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 0.579 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 5.36% or 0.0021 points to trade at 0.0371 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) declined 3.30% or 0.3700 points to end at 10.8400 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) was down 2.99% or 0.0900 points to 2.9220.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 36 to 11 and 6 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for July delivery was down 1.94% or 0.89 to $44.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.81% or 1.26 to hit $43.52 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.56% or 7.30 to trade at $1288.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.1519, while EUR/GBP rose 0.74% to 0.7919.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.30% at 92.81.
