Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Telecoms and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.79%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Montepio (LS:MPIO), which rose 0.46% or 0.002 points to trade at 0.434 at the close. Meanwhile, Sonae (LS:YSO) unchanged 0.00% or 0.0000 points to end at 0.7850 and CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.0000 points to 5.7800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which fell 2.60% or 0.0410 points to trade at 1.5370 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) declined 2.38% or 0.2950 points to end at 12.0800 and Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) was down 1.80% or 0.0660 points to 3.6060.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 39 to 8 and 7 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for February delivery was up 2.30% or 1.11 to $49.35 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.54% or 1.17 to hit $47.23 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.81% or 9.60 to trade at $1188.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.0582, while EUR/GBP rose 0.47% to 0.8530.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.01% at 101.47.
