Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 declined 0.78%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which rose 14.19% or 0.0210 points to trade at 0.1690 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP (LS:EDP) added 0.59% or 0.0170 points to end at 2.8860 and The Navigator Company SA (LS:NVGR) was up 0.39% or 0.0100 points to 2.5900 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 8.80% or 0.0019 points to trade at 0.0197 at the close. Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) declined 2.13% or 0.0680 points to end at 3.1320 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was down 2.02% or 0.1140 points to 5.5180.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 32 to 13 and 8 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for September delivery was down 4.37% or 2.12 to $46.35 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 4.12% or 1.93 to hit $44.87 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.66% or 8.85 to trade at $1344.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.1109, while EUR/GBP rose 0.99% to 0.8434.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.38% at 96.18.
