Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.59%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 1.56% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.7150 at the close. Meanwhile, Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS) added 1.39% or 0.0460 points to end at 3.3660 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 0.99% or 0.0004 points to 0.0408 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Corticeira Amorim (LS:CORA), which fell 2.49% or 0.166 points to trade at 6.500 at the close. Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) declined 1.68% or 0.0310 points to end at 1.8090 and Portucel (LS:PTI) was down 1.56% or 0.0490 points to 3.0910.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 28 to 17 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC) rose to 5-year highs; rising 1.56% or 0.0110 to 0.7150.
Brent oil for July delivery was down 1.02% or 0.46 to $44.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.65% or 0.72 to hit $43.01 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.95% or 11.65 to trade at $1241.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.39% to 1.1267, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.7779.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.40% at 94.73.
