Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Technology and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.52%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Altri SGPS (LS:ALSS), which rose 0.76% or 0.0240 points to trade at 3.1770 at the close. Meanwhile, REN (LS:RENE) added 0.68% or 0.0180 points to end at 2.6620 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was up 0.56% or 0.0100 points to 1.7800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP), which fell 2.96% or 0.0370 points to trade at 1.2130 at the close. CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) declined 1.24% or 0.0760 points to end at 6.0290 and Galp Energia Nom (LS:GALP) was down 1.12% or 0.1400 points to 12.3500.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 34 to 20 and 5 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for January delivery was down 3.57% or 1.81 to $48.87 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 3.29% or 1.60 to hit $47.10 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.07% or 0.85 to trade at $1275.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.11% to 1.0974, while EUR/GBP fell 0.47% to 0.8974.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.06% at 98.37.
