Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 lost 0.03%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Sonae Capital (LS:SONAC), which rose 1.60% or 0.0100 points to trade at 0.6350 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Renovaveis (LS:EDPR) added 1.37% or 0.0950 points to end at 7.0470 and Nos SGPS SA (LS:NOS) was up 0.59% or 0.0340 points to 5.8250 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 1.10% or 0.0020 points to trade at 0.1800 at the close. J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) declined 0.95% or 0.1400 points to end at 14.6300 and Mota Engil (LS:MOTA) was down 0.76% or 0.0130 points to 1.6910.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 24 to 20 and 8 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for October delivery was down 1.78% or 0.89 to $49.07 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 2.87% or 1.38 to hit $46.72 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.15% or 15.45 to trade at $1330.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.40% to 1.1261, while EUR/GBP fell 0.69% to 0.8506.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.26% at 94.75.
