Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financials, Utilities and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 fell 0.03% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LISBON:MOTA), which rose 6.02% or 0.1470 points to trade at 2.5870 at the close. Meanwhile, Impresa SGPS (LISBON:IMPA) added 2.33% or 0.02 points to end at 0.88 and Banif SA (LISBON:BANIF) was up 1.47% or 0.0001 points to 0.0068 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Altri SGPS (LISBON:ALSS), which fell 3.01% or 0.1145 points to trade at 3.6855 at the close. Banco Comercial Portugues (LISBON:BCP) declined 1.41% or 0.0012 points to end at 0.0840 and Sonae (LISBON:YSO) was down 1.38% or 0.0165 points to 1.1825.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 34 to 34 and 6 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for July delivery was down 1.79% or 1.18 to $64.39 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.38% or 0.83 to hit $59.47 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.11% or 1.30 to trade at $1191.10 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.61% to 1.0922, while EUR/GBP rose 0.10% to 0.7193.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.64% at 97.56.
