Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials, Utilities and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI 20 rose 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the PSI 20 were Mota Engil (LS:MOTA), which rose 1.68% or 0.0300 points to trade at 1.8200 at the close. Meanwhile, CTT Correios de Portugal SA (LS:CTT) added 1.47% or 0.0940 points to end at 6.5070 and Banco Comercial Portugues (LS:BCP) was up 1.09% or 0.0002 points to 0.0185 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pharol SGPS SA (LS:PHRA), which fell 1.75% or 0.0040 points to trade at 0.2240 at the close. Semapa (LS:SEM) declined 0.95% or 0.1150 points to end at 11.9950 and J. Martins SGPS (LS:JMT) was down 0.78% or 0.1150 points to 14.6750.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 29 to 18 and 7 ended unchanged.
Brent oil for November delivery was up 3.75% or 1.80 to $49.78 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 3.98% or 1.81 to hit $47.31 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.61% or 8.25 to trade at $1340.95 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.11% to 1.1251, while EUR/GBP rose 0.42% to 0.8461.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.12% at 95.06.
