Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Support Services and Food Producers sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 1.02% to hit a new 3-months low.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Royal Dutch Shell A (AMS:RDSa), which fell 0.19% or 0.05 points to trade at 25.75 at the close. Meanwhile, DSM Kon (AMS:DSMN) fell 0.19% or 0.10 points to end at 53.14 and Heineken (AMS:HEIN) was down 0.22% or 0.15 points to 67.63 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Boskalis Westmin (AMS:BOSN), which fell 2.33% or 1.01 points to trade at 42.56 at the close. KPN Kon (AMS:KPN) declined 2.23% or 0.074 points to end at 3.239 and Philips Kon (AMS:PHG) was down 2.15% or 0.53 points to 23.84.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 219 to 28 and 5 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 7.65% to 23.28 a new 3-months high.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.65% or 0.39 to $60.01 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.89% or 0.57 to hit $64.06 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.73% or 8.60 to trade at $1187.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.13% to 1.1276, while EUR/GBP rose 0.04% to 0.7241.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.08% at 95.17.
