Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX declined 0.96%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Aegon (AS:AEGN), which rose 13.32% or 0.546 points to trade at 4.646 at the close. Meanwhile, NN Group (AS:NN) added 3.78% or 1.06 points to end at 29.10 and SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO) was up 3.46% or 0.45 points to 13.31 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KPN Kon (AS:KPN), which fell 5.16% or 0.148 points to trade at 2.720 at the close. Relx NV (AS:RELN) declined 3.94% or 0.580 points to end at 14.140 and Wolters Kluwer (AS:WLSNc) was down 3.59% or 1.18 points to 31.66.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 93 to 84 and 7 ended unchanged.
Shares in KPN Kon (AS:KPN) fell to 52-week lows; down 5.16% or 0.148 to 2.720.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 0.33% to 19.44.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.35% or 0.61 to $44.66 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.10% or 0.51 to hit $45.85 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.50% or 6.35 to trade at $1267.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.23% to 1.0885, while EUR/GBP fell 1.30% to 0.8680.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 98.82.
