Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Healthcare and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Unibail-Rodamco (AMS:UNBP), which rose 1.42% or 3.55 points to trade at 253.05 at the close. Meanwhile, KPN Kon (AMS:KPN) added 1.18% or 0.038 points to end at 3.265 and ASML Holding (AMS:ASML) was up 1.03% or 0.94 points to 92.37 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA), which fell 4.29% or 0.40 points to trade at 8.81 at the close. Vopak (AMS:VOPA) declined 1.62% or 0.84 points to end at 51.08 and Royal Dutch Shell A (AMS:RDSa) was down 1.40% or 0.40 points to 27.82.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 130 to 124 and 5 ended unchanged.
Shares in KPN Kon (AMS:KPN) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 1.18% or 0.038 to 3.265.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 1.31% to 19.23.
Crude oil for May delivery was down 3.07% or 1.58 to $49.85 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 2.53% or 1.50 to hit $57.70 a barrel, while the April Gold contract fell 0.43% or 5.20 to trade at $1199.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.0906, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.7330.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.03% at 97.51.
