Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Technology Hardware & Equipment, Technology and Media sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 2.17%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were Aalberts Industries (AMS:AALB), which rose 7.36% or 1.96 points to trade at 28.60 at the close. Meanwhile, OCI (AMS:OCI) added 4.38% or 1.110 points to end at 26.460 and ASML Holding (AMS:ASML) was up 4.19% or 3.88 points to 96.58 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were KPN Kon (AMS:KPN), which fell 0.87% or 0.030 points to trade at 3.400 at the close. TNT Express (AMS:TNTE) added 0.17% or 0.013 points to end at 7.622 and Royal Dutch Shell A (AMS:RDSa) was up 0.65% or 0.17 points to 25.54.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 170 to 47 and 2 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was down 7.96% to 25.39.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 3.13% or 1.86 to $57.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 1.63% or 1.03 to hit $62.55 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.18% or 2.10 to trade at $1169.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.53% to 1.1083, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.7098.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.54% at 96.27.
