Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Software & Computer Services, Telecoms and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were KPN Kon (AMS:KPN), which rose 2.60% or 0.082 points to trade at 3.241 at the close. Meanwhile, Gemalto (AMS:GTO) added 2.13% or 1.58 points to end at 75.75 and TNT Express (AMS:TNTE) was up 1.18% or 0.070 points to 5.991 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were ASML Holding (AMS:ASML), which fell 2.12% or 2.01 points to trade at 92.78 at the close. Arcelormittal (AMS:ISPA) declined 1.28% or 0.11 points to end at 8.66 and DSM Kon (AMS:DSMN) was down 1.02% or 0.53 points to 51.44.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 160 to 83 and 7 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 2.23% to 20.03 a new 1-month high.
Crude oil for May delivery was up 4.94% or 2.35 to $49.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 3.67% or 2.02 to hit $57.13 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 1.88% or 22.30 to trade at $1205.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.40% to 1.0776, while EUR/GBP rose 0.34% to 0.7268.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 98.39.
