Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Technology, Oil & Gas and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX gained 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the AEX were ASML Holding (AS:ASML), which rose 3.54% or 2.88 points to trade at 84.18 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS:ISPA) added 1.90% or 0.08 points to end at 4.19 and SBM Offshore (AS:SBMO) was up 1.70% or 0.18 points to 11.04 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ahold Kon (AS:AHLN), which fell 2.04% or 0.40 points to trade at 19.25 at the close. Philips Kon (AS:PHG) declined 1.93% or 0.45 points to end at 22.57 and ING Groep NV (AS:ING) was down 1.92% or 0.200 points to 10.225.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 81 to 71 and 12 ended unchanged.
The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was up 5.02% to 21.09.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 3.20% or 1.48 to $47.69 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 2.66% or 1.27 to hit $49.10 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.31% or 3.95 to trade at $1276.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.17% to 1.1332, while EUR/GBP fell 0.06% to 0.7865.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.16% at 94.45.
