Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Materials, Telecoms Services and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 1.64%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA), which rose 1.68% or 0.32 points to trade at 19.34 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Financiero Santander Mexico (MX:SANMEXB) added 1.67% or 0.500 points to end at 30.400 and Infraestructura Energetica Nova SAB (MX:IENOVA) was up 0.78% or 0.69 points to 88.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB), which fell 5.17% or 3.090 points to trade at 56.630 at the close. Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES) declined 5.06% or 20.680 points to end at 387.710 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del Pacifico (MX:GAPB) was down 3.16% or 5.550 points to 169.950.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 135 to 129 and 8 ended unchanged.
Gold for February delivery was up 0.61% or 6.85 to $1136.65 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.22% or 1.13 to hit $52.03 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 2.41% or 1.30 to trade at $55.32 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.53% to 20.4455, while EUR/MXN rose 0.85% to 21.3532.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.33% at 102.81.
