Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Materials, Consumer Staples and Financial Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.92%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (MX:KIMBERA), which rose 1.60% or 0.480 points to trade at 30.370 at the close. Meanwhile, Banregio Grupo Financiero SAB De CV (MX:GFREGIOO) added 0.87% or 0.680 points to end at 79.240 and Grupo Elektra, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ELEKTRA) was up 0.64% or 2.650 points to 412.770 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo Financiero Inbursa, SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO), which fell 4.02% or 1.570 points to trade at 37.300 at the close. Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) declined 2.95% or 1.290 points to end at 42.500 and Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA) was down 2.81% or 0.510 points to 17.660.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 78 to 60 and 7 ended unchanged.
Gold for April delivery was up 0.02% or 0.20 to $1203.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.57% or 0.29 to hit $51.01 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.21% or 0.12 to trade at $58.97 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.06% to 15.1418, while EUR/MXN fell 0.16% to 16.4542.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 97.57.
