Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Materials, Consumer Staples and Telecoms Services sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC lost 0.62%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Gentera SAB de CV (MX:GENTERA), which rose 5.64% or 1.770 points to trade at 33.140 at the close. Meanwhile, Nemak SAB de CV (MX:NEMAKA) added 4.87% or 0.83 points to end at 17.89 and Grupo Aeroportuario Del CentroNorte (MX:OMAB) was up 4.71% or 4.630 points to 102.850 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (MX:PENOLES), which fell 6.89% or 32.530 points to trade at 439.890 at the close. Grupo Mexico, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GMEXICOB) declined 4.26% or 2.440 points to end at 54.890 and Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:BIMBOA) was down 2.80% or 1.440 points to 49.910.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 99 to 97 and 9 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was up 0.52% or 6.30 to $1228.00 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 5.70% or 2.47 to hit $45.79 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $46.96 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.08% to 20.2583, while EUR/MXN rose 0.07% to 21.7235.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.17% at 100.20.
