Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Materials, Financial Services and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Mexico, the IPC fell 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the IPC were Alpek, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:ALPEKA), which rose 2.02% or 0.460 points to trade at 23.270 at the close. Meanwhile, Grupo Carso, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:GCARSOA1) added 2.02% or 1.370 points to end at 68.710 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (MX:BOLSAA) was up 1.87% or 0.530 points to 28.780 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Grupo LALA SA de CV (MX:LALAB), which fell 1.87% or 0.64 points to trade at 33.52 at the close. Mexichem, S.A.B. De C.V. (MX:MEXCHEM) declined 1.65% or 0.740 points to end at 44.160 and Grupo Financiero Inbursa, SAB De CV (MX:GFINBURO) was down 1.17% or 0.420 points to 35.370.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 42 to 40 and 5 ended unchanged.
Gold for August delivery was up 0.37% or 4.30 to $1167.80 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 2.48% or 1.41 to hit $55.52 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 2.44% or 1.51 to trade at $60.55 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.50% to 15.7398, while EUR/MXN rose 0.70% to 17.4805.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.10% at 96.38.
